Profile

My name is Jerry Bean, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for the HOA Board of Directors. ! moved to CRR in June and quickly fell in love with the Ranch and the sense of community here. I live on Sundown Canyon Road and am eager to give back by serving this wonderful community.

I bring a lifelong commitment to public service. I began my career with the U.S. Forest Service in 1968 and spent 33 years managing fire operations, overseeing public land stewardship, and leading large teams. ! retired as Division Chief for the Big Sur Coast and Santa Lucia Ranger District, where I oversaw nearly a million acres of land and managed a $3 million annual budget. My responsibilities included fire prevention, operations, and long-term planning.

I also proudly served in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Vietnam as a helicopter door gunner. After retiring from the Forest Service, I worked for the Santa Maria Fire Department for eight years as a Battalion Chief, including assignments on an Interagency Incident Management Team.

In addition to my operational leadership, I chaired the Civil Rights Committee for California's 18 national forests and received a national award from the Department of Agriculture for my contributions to civil rights and human resources.

I am joining the Board to help ensure our HOA remains responsive, transparent, and financially responsible. I believe in inclusive leadership and effective communication. With my background in emergency management, budgeting, and community service, I am confident I can make a meaningful contribution to Crooked River Ranch.
